If you are like us when we travel to other Cities we are reluctant to look for attractions, restaurant, shopping and hotel references in local travel and tourism guides that are usually readily available. They tend to focus on the more mainstream businesses that can afford the arm and a leg prices to advertize in them. Many municipal or regional sponsored Tourism Associations tend to only promote those that are members, not necessarily those that have something unique to offer. Often the price tag for this annual membership is hefty – some in quadruple digits. As a result, it seems hardly possible for that fantastic little mom and pop cake shop to get some truly deserved visibility. Until now.

If you are like us when you travel you often approach a complete stranger that looks interesting to you (someone who embodies your clever sense of style or so you think or wish) and ask them their opinion on where to eat, where to find cool clothes or where to find a good antique market. They may tell you that tonight is the once a month Friday that the Ukrainian Church has it’s “all you can eat” perogie dinner or that there is an amazing new high end Thai Restaurant that just opened in the neighbourhood or better yet where to get the coolest handmade leather boots this town is known for.
